Roger, the founder, comes from a farming background where he grew up learning to fix and build all manner of things both mechanical and electrical. After leaving school in 2001, Roger became a qualified electrician in 2004 and later established an electrical contracting business in the late 2000s with services focused on higher value residential properties alongside work in the rural and commercial sectors.

In 2008, Roger’s growing interest in renewable energy led him to provide subcontracting services for other renewable energy firms. During this time, he focused on installing solar PV and battery schemes, gaining valuable experience in the sector.

​

After several years of subcontracting, Roger gained the confidence to pivot his business entirely towards renewable energy installations. In 2016, he founded 5H Renewable Energy, which has since grown steadily, delivering renewable energy solutions to clients throughout the Kent and Sussex areas.

In 2022, Roger and Alexis met in the car park of their children’s school. Alexis is a Chartered Surveyor with nearly two decades of experience in both the housebuilding and rural sectors.

With shared values and a mutual interest in delivering customer focused property and development solutions, a conversation was had about shared involvement and in early 2024, Alexis came on board to support Roger with the growth of 5H Renewable Energy.
